Mustangs dominate the field with 59-7 win

The Delta football program continues to exceed expectations by defeating the Feather River College Golden Eagles 59-7.

The Mustangs remain undefeated with a 3-0 record.

On Sept. 15, Feather River College attempted to put a halt to the Mustangs stampede.

Delta’s defense held its ground against the opponent’s offense only allowing one touchdown and point after.

The Mustang’s Anthony May took the role as defensive leader when he pulled in two interceptions.

Igniting the offense was veteran quarterback Sam Hutsell who had 18 completions with only 21 pass attempts. He also had a total of 172 passing yards accumulating four touchdowns in the process.

Once again Stagg High product Theo Wofford led the team in rushing with 62 yards and averaging 3.6 yards a carry.

With two big catches Conner Seawell led Delta in receiving with 56 yards, averaging 28 yards a reception.

Delta’s next game is against Butte College on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m. at the De Ricco Stadium.
