The U.S. census data has shown that young people are marrying less and less nowadays.

“Young people have so much to experience and I think they should spend their youth doing what they truly want without the complications of trying to maintain and uphold a marriage,” said Delta student Josephine Fuentes.

Getting married young has many more benefits to it as opposed to getting married later in life.
Youth is a gift. With youth come’s health, energy, endurance, and vitality. These are good things; they give us purpose and promise in our younger years.

People should really start thinking about marriage and kids when they’re still young and energetic.

“I personally wouldn’t get married at a young age because you don’t really get the opportunity to truly know who that person is, and it’s difficult to learn who a person is when you’re still trying to figure out who you are, and what you want in life,” said Fuentes.

Let’s be real — aren’t we always “finding ourselves”?

In case you think on waiting for “the right time,” or for everything to be “perfect” in your life in order to get married, the reality is that life will never be perfect.

All of the reasons why we say young people shouldn’t get married are the precise reasons why they should.

“If you and your partner feel ready for marriage then you should go on right ahead and get married,” said Delta student Roxanna Guzman.

One of the biggest misconceptions about marriage is that you need to have a huge amount of savings aside to get married.

No money? No problem. It will cost you between $35.00+ and $100.00+ to get married in California.
A big plus for getting married young is fertility. Fertility rates for women start to drop around 27 and after 35 it decreases dramatically.

Getting married earlier provides the opportunity to conceive younger, which can save a couple $13,000 to $14,000 on fertility treatments later on in life.

Conceiving young also comes with lower chances of certain pregnancy risks. Not only is it healthier for the mother, but for the child as well.

In order to raise kids, parents need plenty of energy. Younger married couples have more energy to chase kids around the house than those pushing late 30’s.

The same energy can be used to balance career and parenthood.

The earlier you have kids, the younger you will be when they leave home and will be able to reclaim your career.

Lastly, getting married young will allow you to spend more time and share even more memories with your spouse.

If you’re in your 20’s and found “the one” then what are you waiting for?
Get married and build a lifetime of memories with that person.
