The Super Bowl halftime show was full of statements but none seemed to get people upset more than Beyonce’s performance of her new song “Formation.”

“Formation” is a pro-black song with a music video that highlights Hurricane Katrina, afros and police brutality against Aftrican Americans.

During the show Beyonce took the Levi’s Stadium by storm dressed in black and gold as a tribute to Michael Jackson while her backup dancers dressed in black with berets  as a tribute to the 50-year anniversary of the Black Panther Party, a group of black nationalist and socialist from 1966 until 1982 in the United States.

“She used it as a platform to attack police officers who are the people that protect us and keep us alive,” said Rudy Giuliani, former mayor of New York City, in a Fox News interview.

Nowhere in Beyonce’s performance did she attack police.

It’s Black History Month, a month for America to remember African American side of history textbooks forgot.

Beyonce is a star who used this platform of the Super Bowl to pay respect to Michael Jackson, Malcolm X and the Black Panther Party and all of them have done a lot for black people in a America.

Of course not everyone considered the performance an attack.

“It’s an attack on cops who attack our people,” said Rapper T.I. in an airport with TMZ.

Not all police officers are bad.

But the attack on black and brown people by police has gotten way out of hand.

Why else would it constantly come up if it wasn’t an issue?

There is now a boycott Beyonce hashtag and there will even be a protest rally happening on Feb. 16 at the NFL headquarters in New York City

That’s ridiculous and obviously others felt the same because the turn out was so poor people now believe it was a prank.

Saturday Night Live recently did a skit on white peoples’ reaction to the song. It was over dramatic but the message was clear in the skit the white people didn’t understand her song at all.

But how can a song geared toward black people be anything else?

People are really upset at Beyonce for loving the fact that she’s a black woman who uses her voice to promote her people who for a long time were and still are to others as “black sheep.” She’s giving a voice to the voiceless relaying a message that has been on Black people’s mind since the beginning – stop killing us.

Through all this controversy Beyonce has remained on top.

With the announcement of her “Formation” tour.

She has even added more dates from her original schedule due to the high demand.

Some say all publicity is good publicity either way.
