San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District will hold a free car clean-up event on Saturday, Jan. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at San Joaquin Delta College in the back campus parking lots.
The first 525 vehicles that do not pass the free emissions test, will receive a $500 dollar voucher for smog repairs at the Gold Shield Smog Shop.
To be eligible the car must be a 1995 model or older and owned for more than six months. The car will undergo a free car emissions test and diagnostic inspection.
The car clean up event was made possible by the Reformulated Gasoline Settlement fund by a grant.
The goal of this fund is to promote clean air and fuel effectiveness for Californians.
Free food and drinks will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
