The San Joaquin Delta College Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve Dr. Jeff Marsee as the new president/superintendent of the college.
He is currently president/superintendent of the College of the Redwoods in Eureka.
He was selected over Dr. Kimberly Perry, vice president of academic affairs at Los Angeles City College, and Dr. Kevin G. Walthers, vice chancellor for administration for the West Virginia Community and Technical College System and West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission.
Marsee replaces Dr. Raul Rodriguez who resigned last year from the position to become chancellor at Rancho Santiago Community College District in Orange County.
Dr. Susan Cota has served as interim president since the beginning of the fall semester.
Marsee, who spoke last week in a forum involving all three candidates, is scheduled to begin May 1.
