Fashion and slut shaming

How much revealing is too much revealing?

This generation judges people on the way they dress, whether you like it or not.

You see someone wearing revealing clothing and immediately you have thoughts on what kind of person that is.

Many woman, sometimes men, nowadays wear revealing clothing.

Are they looking for attention? Probably not.

Recently fashion lines have been releasing lots of new clothing that show a little too much skin. The clothing that is designed and modeled on the show Project Runway is an example of clothing that show a little too much.

But it looks great, and it has some form of sex appeal to it.

If people like the look of, for example, a certain style, they’re going to base their personal style off of that style.

I know people who base their everyday look off their favorite people. For example, my friend admitted to me one time that she bases her style off of my style because she likes it so much.

Sometimes, the clothing can be a bit revealing.

There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s fashionable. It’s not slut shaming. To be honest, slut shaming is pretty crappy. Just because you’re wearing revealing clothing doesn’t mean you’re asking for it. You can never tell what kind of person someone is just by judging them on their clothing. Someone who you mistaken as a “slut” because her shirt is cut a little too low might be completely innocent. What if one day I want to wear some short shorts because I know it’ll be really hot that day? Are you going to judge me because of it?

Obviously if you dress in revealing clothing, you’re going to get attention.

It’s just how much you reveal that draws the line between overbearing and fashion.

Celebrities dress like that all the time. When they’re out at Red Carpet events or movie premieres.

Sometimes celebrities go overboard, ahem Miley Cyrus, but that’s her own personal style.

There’s a borderline between slut shaming and fashion. Miley Cyrus: totally overboard. Take her clothing choices at the 2015 VMAs for example. One of her outfits was literally buttons. Like different button sizes were covering certain parts of her body. You need to chill Cyrus.

Most of the clothing items we wear reveal certain parts of the body that aren’t usually seen as the fashionable nowadays.

Shorts that rise a little too high or shirts that are cut a little too short, all fashion, whether we like it or not.

Of course, I wouldn’t go as far as wearing something like that. I don’t have the confidence to.

But other people who practically radiate confidence, they can do whatever they want.

It’s their body; it’s their image that they want to put up for themselves.
