The rapper and singer Bad Bunny dropped his latest album “Nadie sabe lo que va a pasar manana” (Nobody Knows What Will Happen Tomorrow) on Oct. 23.
Following up on the request of many fans, Bad Bunny differs this album from his last two reggaeton, transitioning back to Spanish trap.
Spanish trap sounds are hard synthesizer street beats similar to rap but without any melody or lyrical expression to tell a story or get a real message across to the listeners.
This genre is mostly an ear for locals to listen to just like English trap music; it is not very commercial sounding like rap normally is.
Most of the songs in this album are Spanish trap besides singles that were out already before the album like “Where She Goes” with an electric beat or “Un Preview” (A Preview) and “Perro Negro”(Black Dog) as they still have a reggaeton sound.
The album contains 22 songs, and unlike his previous albums this is the first album that has English title songs like, “Mr.October,” “Cybertruck,” “Where She Goes” and “Thunder y Lightning.”
“Pero nadie sabe no lo que siente, ey sentirse solo con cien mil persona al frente que de ti hable toda la gente sin saber un bicho, (puerto rico slang word) sin conocerte” (But Nobody knows how it feels, to feel lonely with millions of people in front of you, that people talk about you without knowing sh*** , without knowing you,” said Bad Bunny in the first song of the album, “Nadie Sabe” (Nobody Knows)”.
In the song, he expresses how he feels he has been misjudged throughout his career without people knowing him as a person but also reminds people that he is that guy and acknowledges everything he has accomplished for himself throughout his career.
The album was released during National Depression and Mental Health Screening Month — and it is important to point out it is not the first time he mentioned he feels this way.
In a 2023 single song “Mojabi Ghost” Bad Bunny says, “Tos hablan de mi sin saber mi biografia” (They all talk about me without knowing my biography.)
When a person expresses a feeling twice or has these thoughts of feeling always need to tell people to see them for who they are it can become overwhelming to someone’s mental health.
It is powerful this song is the first in the album because many people tend to harshly judge an album based on the first beat or lyrics of a soundtrack so it is good for him to let his fans know how he feels inside before going into the next songs, especially when he said this is an album dedicated to his fans.
He truly connects with them when he takes his time to mention them in a song since this is not the first time he has done it.
In his 2020 album “YHLQMDLG” he thanked them with the last song of the album “<3.”
The second song of the album “Monaco,” has a trap beat with a sample sound of Charles Aznavour’s “Hier Encore.” and already has a spot in Billboard’s Global 200 according to Billboard Charts.
He also announced this album comes with a tour, “Most Wanted Tour” for 2024, and so far there are only North American shows scheduled for it.
