James Earl Jones dies at 93

On Sept. 9, James Earl Jones died at 93-years old leaving behind a legacy of work. 

Jones had worked in the theater, off and on Broadway and went on to be in movies that were No. 1r in the box office.

He was also known for being an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony) winner.

He is responsible for iconic movie lines such as “No, I am your father” as Darth Vader from “Star Wars.”

Even though he wasn’t in the movie physically, his voice was the staple for that line and is quoted till this day. Vader was portrayed by David Prowse.

Jones continued to be the voice for Darth Vader for the movie franchise up to 2019’s “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.”

He had a voice that can be recognized in animated movies and television.

Another major role was “The Lion King,” in which he voiced Mufasa. His death in that movie brought tears to our eyes.

 Another memorable line of Jones’,  from “The Lion King”: “A king’s time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day, Simba, the sun will set on my time here and will rise with you as the new king.” Advising his son Simba that he won’t be here forever and he’s next in line to be king.”
