The CTE & Workforce Development clothes closet located in Shima 234 is for those in need of formal attire for things like job interviews or meetings, and it’s all free.
This is only for students currently enrolled at Delta.
“It is important to learn before the start of their career to look professional,” said Freshta Faisal, an administrative assistant for the campus Career and Technical Education and Workforce Development office. This is an opportunity for students to present themselves professionally, which is an important skill to learn.
The program also provides services for those students entering and seeking assistance in the workforce.
“We offer resume workshops as well as interview practice,” said Faisal. This is a very useful asset to any student who may be nervous going into their first interview, or the student who keeps getting rejected because they have a weak resume.
The clothes closet welcomes donations of any formal clothes like dress shirts and pants, dresses and shows in any size for any gender.
“The closet is full of new to gently used professional clothes,” said Faisal. Drop offs for donations are in Shima 217. The program offers walk-ins as well in Shima 217 every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
First year student, Isaiah Richards says that he program is a great asset for delta students because “some of us have no idea how to apply for jobs, let alone be presentable and professional”
