The Artisan Bakery here at Delta’s campus reopened this semester to the campus and has caught the eyes of staff, students, along with the community as well.
Breads, pastries, cookies, coffee, and more are being sold on the first floor of the Goleman Library every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This course provides an opportunity for aspiring bakers or chefs to gain real time experience of being in the kitchen and making some sweet and savory delicacies for the people on campus.
“I’ve always had an inclination to do culinary arts since I was in elementary and remember helping and volunteering in the kitchen, I also did the same thing in high school,” said Antonio Morales, a student working in the artisan bakery.
“But, I lost that through high school because people were bullying me for my figure and then I proceeded to lose my passion, but then I took an elective course related to this course and the Artisan Bakery helped me find my passion in cooking again, especially in baking,” said Morales.
Some courses that are connected to this program are a variety of culinary arts classes like hospitality industries, sanitation and safety, etc.
So if anyone is interested in joining the artisan bakery, taking one of the following courses could give you a good idea whether or not you would be interested in going into culinary.
The relaunch of the artisan bakery is still in the works of many new projects in the future, though everyone should definitely keep an eye out. Halabiicky and company are in the works of many different concepts that are in the works for upcoming semesters in the time ahead for many students, teachers, and peers to enjoy in the foreseeable future.
