Delta’s volleyball team finished the year with an overall record of 26-5 and 13-3 in the conference.

With another winning season in the books for Molly Hummel, head coach of the team, reflects back on the season.

“Our team thrived due to their exceptional work ethic and unwavering commitment to building strong team chemistry,” said Hummel via email interview, “This season brought many rewards, but I think the greatest gift they provided was their desire to be humble, work hard, and continually make sacrifices for the betterment of the team and their teammates,” said Hummel.

The team also dealt with many injuries to many players who play important roles on the team, but this allowed other players to play in these key roles and develop.

“Our team went through a lot of adversity with injuries to key players and it allowed others to step into major roles. Our sophomore class has strong leadership skills and has set a foundation for our freshmen to continue. We have a very strong freshmen class who are excited to carry on the tradition of excellence,” said Hummel.

Being the head coach of a big volleyball program may come with many hurdles during the process, however looking back on a really fulfilling season.
