Dr. Chike Akua, author, speaker and Associate Professor of Educational Leadership at Clark Atlanta University, the first university to award graduate degrees to African-Americans, presented “From History to Destiny: What does it mean to be Black?” on Feb. 25 in Atherton Auditorium.

This event was “specifically designed to blow your mind,” said Akua. The event showcased student poetry and speeches, and Akua’s look into African-American ancestry all the way back to Kemet, the ancient Egyptian name for Egypt.
