The Associated Students of Delta College (ASDC) held interviews to select a student trustee for the Board of Trustees. The ASDC board gave each candidate six questions and 15 minutes to answer them. The ASDC board selected Dylan Myers in a 6-1 vote on April 28.
The student trustee position isn’t voted on by the students of Delta College and is appointed by the ASDC board. The trustee needs to be enrolled in 6 units, be a citizen of California and have a 2.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average.
“I am the longest-serving ASDC member. Before I was trustee, I was a senator,” said Myers. “I call it the hidden gem role.”
Myers initially joined ASDC in the Senator At-Large role in February 2023 and served for three months before being appointed trustee.
Myers hopes to set the standard for student trustees.
“I want the next student trustee, whoever they may be, to see me as the bare minimum, I want them to exceed,” said Myers.
