During the month of May, the Delta college Drama Department will host several showings of “Kiss Me Kate,” which is set around a fictional version of William Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew.”

 The first act is based on a man named Fred Graham who is the director/producer and also stars in a play called “Another Op’nin’, Another Show” as Petruchio.

 In his play, his ex-wife Lilli is also in it playing the character of Blanca.

The first act is based on how the two work together and can’t stand one another.

It also shows how Lilli hates that Fred is falling for a girl named Lois Lane and how Lois has a boyfriend named Bill who is also in the play.

The second act showcases more of what is happening behind the scenes.

“Kiss Me Kate” will play at 8 p.m. May 8-9, 15-16 and at 2 p.m. May 10 and May 17.

All performances will be held in the Tillie Lewis Theatre. tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.
