Accessibility Statment
The Collegian is committed to making its website accessible and usable for all readers, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members with disabilities.
The Collegian is the student newspaper and news website of San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, California. As a First Amendment newspaper, we are committed to serving the students of Delta College while maintaining editorial independence. Our work is rooted in the belief that a student newspaper should speak for students, check abuses of power, and stand vigilant in the protection of democracy and free speech.
That commitment includes making our journalism as accessible as possible.
We aim to follow current web accessibility best practices, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, so that our website can be used by people with a wide range of abilities and assistive technologies. This includes attention to readable text, clear navigation, keyboard access, proper heading structure, color contrast, image descriptions, captions when available, and accessible formatting for stories, media, and archives.
Because The Collegian is a student-run publication that publishes five to six times per semester, accessibility is an ongoing effort. We are continually working to improve the website, review content, and correct barriers as they are identified.
If you experience difficulty accessing any part of our website, notice an accessibility issue, or need content in another format, please contact us.
