The board moved to the Adoption of Resolution No. 21-08  of holding virtual gatherings for the board of trustees meetings.  Board President  Charles Jennings read the Record Resolution that included Gov. Gavin Newsom’s executive order 2920 that suspended certain provisions of the Brown Act referring to teleconference meetings. A recent version of that order allowed authorization through Sept. 30, 2021.

Though it is possible for meetings to be in-person, the Board of Trustees and Delta Community College agreed to still hold all meetings virtual due to the uncertainties of the pandemic.

“The board of trustees of San Joaquin Delta Community College district finds that the state of emergency continues to directly impact the ability of trustees staff and the public to meet safely in person, due to the prevalence of the delta variant, the indoor setting of meeting facilities, and the potential risk of unvaccinated individuals attending meetings,” said Jennings.
