Delta College announced two finalists in its search for a president/superintendent to replace the outgoing Dr. Omid Pourzanjani on Wednesday — and both are familiar names.

Dr. Charles Jennings, president of the Board of Trustees, sent out a memo announcing that Acting Superintendent/President Dr. Lisa Aguilera Lawrenson and Dr. Lisa Cooper Wilkins, vice chancellor of Student Affairs at City College of San Francisco were finalists in the search.

Lawrenson, who assumed the role of Acting Superintendent/President in October 2021, after Pourzanjani announced his intent to resign at the end of his term, which expires June 30. She began her role at Delta College in 2020 as Vice President of Instruction.

Prior to being hired by City College, Cooper Wilkins worked at Delta in several roles from 2014 to 2020. She was the dean of enrollment and student development from 2014 to 2015, and was named interim vice president of Student Services in 2015 before assuming the full role in 2016.

Public forums have been scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, May 2, in the Atherton Auditorium. The forums will be live streamed and videos will be made available after the fact. Final interviews are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 3.

“I want to publicly thank the superintendent/president search committee members for all their hard work and the other individuals at Delta College who helped with the search and selection process,” Jennings wrote.
