It’s already been a year since Trump’s victory over Harris in the presidential election. Despite losing, former Vice President Kamala Harris hasn’t gone away and is using her voice to lift others.
On Sept. 23, Harris’ memoir “107 Days” was released. The book talks about a lot of things, but the main topic was her presidential campaign that only lasted 107 days after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race — making her campaign one of the shortest ever in history.
She is currently on a book tour promoting her book until Nov. 20
In the memoir Harris stated that on July 15, Biden asked her if for any reason he had to drop out he would fully support her. Harris then responded “I’m fully behind you Joe but if you decide not to run, I’m ready.”
She also stated in her book that Biden was dealing with neuropathy in his feet for a long time and currently walks unsteadily.
On Oct. 30, the “Diary of a CEO” YouTube channel posted a video of an interview with Harris. She talked about her complicated relationship with Biden and gave an example of him disappointing her.
“On the day of the debate, my debate with Trump and then being a woman running for president and many women in various high level positions get their hair and makeup done,” said Harris. “I’m in the hotel room with my husband Doug then the president calls and I was told he wanted to call me. I was so sure it was to buck me up. He did say that for the first beat and then he went on to talk about a group of people in Pennsylvania who were saying bad things about me because they heard I was saying bad things about him and when I hung up the phone, I was angry and deeply disappointed.”
Harris also said she was in a state of shock after finding out the results and recapped the night that she lost
“When I got a call from my campaign manager that it looks like we need 200,000 more votes that we can’t find meaning it’s just the map and the numbers. The thing I kept saying over and over again I was so Inarticulate maybe very articulate what I kept saying over and over again was ‘My God, My God and My God,’” said Harris
Since Jan. 20, Trump has been making America worse than ever by adding numerous bad executive orders such as prosecuting people that are burning flags under existing laws intended for use against inciting violence, riots and hate crimes. The order is violating the First Amendment meaning that it violates the fundamental principle of free expression for American citizens.
As of last month, speculation has been circulating about whether Harris will potentially run for president in 2028.
On Nov. 2, NBC News held an exclusive Meet the Press interview with California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
According to Newsom, there were all kinds of theories regarding why Kamala lost in 2024.
“I think that time we’ll have more of an understanding. We can start with inflation. We can talk about interest rates, incumbency, Israel, immigration, border, Joe Rogan, woke, 107 days and lack of open primary,” said Newsom. “And how you unpack that and stack that in terms of everything I think it still needs a little bit more forensics.”
On Nov. 4, the Democrats swept on Election Day. Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherril were elected governors of Virginia and New Jersey.
A lot of people voted for these two women to act as their states representatives and hopefully become well-respected leaders.
“I am determined to build prosperity for all of our citizens and I’ve heard from thousands of you about liberty and prosperity mean to you, what is going to take for your family to thrive. So I hear you New York, I’m going to work with communities from the ground up so all our neighbors thrive,” said Sherril.
People are willing to elect women to governorships but what about the presidency?
Time will tell.
